Programs for Elementary Students
We are pleased to offer the following programs for Elementary School students:
Literacy & Numeracy Programs – Grade 7 & 8
Continuing Education provides a wide variety of programs for students aimed at promoting numeracy and literacy development and improvement in partnership with schools across HWDSB. These programs are available at NO COST to students in grades 7 & 8. Our Literacy and Numeracy programs are offered during the school year as well as in July and August.

International and Indigenous Languages Elementary
The International and Indigenous Language Elementary (IILE) program offers children an opportunity to learn and/or maintain a language other than French or English and to develop an appreciation and sensitivity to the cultural diversity within Canada.
International and Indigenous Languages Elementary classes provide academic instruction in languages other than English and French.
Elementary Strings Instruction Program
For over 50 years, the HWDSB Strings Program has been available to elementary students. Offered through Continuing Education, the Strings Program provides an opportunity for HWDSB students enrolled in grades 3 to 8 to learn to play the violin or cello. Strings is a fee-for-service program.
