Program Overview

Continuing Education is pleased to offer full credit courses through Summer School Online.  Summer School Online courses run from July 2, 2026 and end July 29, 2026.  These courses are delivered online via asynchronous learning with 1-hour of daily live support with your teacher available via MS Teams. Registration can be completed on myBlueprint.


ALREADY REGISTERED?  GREAT!

  • If your course status in myBlueprint is SUBMITTED: Your course selection is waiting to be approved by Guidance.
    • If you have questions, please contact Guidance at your school.
  • If your course status in myBlueprint is APPROVED: Your course selection has been approved by Guidance.
    • Confirmations from Continuing Education will be emailed by the end of June.

Summer School Online courses are for:

  • Current HWDSB secondary students
  • Adult students currently active in HWDSB Continuing Education 
  • Secondary students from outside the HWDSB
  • Adult students new to HWDSB

Delivery:  Asynchronous online courses

Tutoring:  Daily live support available on MS Teams for 1-hour each day.  Teachers will notify their students of their live support meeting times.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR SENIOR COURSES: For Grade 11 and Grade 12 courses, the last day to drop courses WITHOUT RECEIVING A FINAL MARK is Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

  • Course selection opens: March 2, 2026
  • Application deadline: June 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.

How Registration Works

  1. Select your course in myBlueprint
  2. You will receive a confirmation email to your HWDSB account (status: Submitted)
  3. Your Guidance Counsellor will review your selection
  4. Once approved, your status will change to Approved

If there are any concerns, your Guidance Counsellor will contact you and may update your course selection.

Registration - NON-HWDSB Students

Registration instructions for Secondary School Students from outside HWDSB

Step 1: REGISTER AS AN HWDSB STUDENT  

  • Deadline to register as an HWDSB student: June 15, 2026, 11:00 a.m. with all required documents provided – NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • CHOOSE THE CORRECT YEAR:
    • Select the 2025-2026 school year for programs beginning before August 31, 2026.  
  • CHOOSE THE CORRECT GRADE:
    • Select your current grade
  • CHOOSE THE CORRECT SCHOOL:
    • "Continuing Education Secondary" for High School Students
  • UPLOAD DOCUMENTS WITH YOUR FORM:
    • NOTE: Students registering for Continuing Education do NOT need to show their documents.  Uploading them is sufficient.

Step 2: Receive an HWDSB Student Registration confirmation, along with:

  • Your @hwdsb.on.ca email address
  • Your temporary password

Step 3: Select your course in myBlueprint.

  • Course selection is open from March 2 – June 26, 2026.
  • NOTE: You must sign into myBlueprint using your …@hwdsb.on.ca account.
  • Course selection closes June 26, 2026, 11:00 a.m. to allow time for approval from your Guidance Counsellor.

Step 4: Your Guidance Counsellor will be emailed to approve your request by end of day on June 26, 2026.

Step 5: Start your course online in the HUB on July 2, 2026.

Registration - Adult Students new to HWDSB

Registration instructions for adult students new to HWDSB / not currently enrolled in an HWDSB Adult program

Step 1:  REGISTER AS AN HWDSB STUDENT

  • Deadline to register as an HWDSB student: June 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with all required documents provided – NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • CHOOSE THE CORRECT YEAR:
    • Select the 2025-2026 school year for programs beginning before August 31, 2026.  
  • CHOOSE THE CORRECT GRADE:
    • Select your current grade if you are still in school
    • Select "Mature Student" if you are an adult
  • CHOOSE THE CORRECT SCHOOL:
    • "Continuing Education Secondary" for Adults or High School Students
  • UPLOAD DOCUMENTS WITH YOUR FORM:
    • NOTE: Students registering for Continuing Education do NOT need to show their documents.  Uploading them is sufficient.

Step 2:  Receive an HWDSB Student Registration confirmation, along with:

  • Your @hwdsb.on.ca email address
  • Your temporary password

Step 3:  Email your latest high school transcript to [email protected] (so we can guide you with course selection).

Step 4: Select your course at myBlueprint

  • Course selection is open from March 2 – June 26, 2026.
  • NOTE: You must sign into myBlueprint using your …@hwdsb.on.ca account.
  • Course selection closes June 26, 2026, 11:00 a.m. to allow time for approval from our Guidance Counsellor.

Step 5: Our Guidance Counsellor will review your request against your transcript for pre-requisites by June 26, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. and will contact you with any concerns.

Step 6: Start your course online in the HUB on July 2, 2026.

1. Go to the HWDSB student website: students.hwdsb.on.ca.

2. Click on myBlueprint and log in.

3. On the left menu, click on Continuing Education.

4. Choose Explore Courses.

5. Select Summer School.

6. Choose your course.

Course Support Real-time, live support for online courses will be available on MS Teams, Monday to Friday, for one hour each day.  Teachers will notify their students of the time they will be online.
