Continuing Education HWDSB

If you are/your child is an active student at an HWDSB School or if you are currently active with Continuing Education HWDSB, you can register for CE programs for which you are eligible.

HWDSB Secondary Students progressing to Continuing Education HWDSB Adult Programs are required to complete the registration for "I am NOT/My child is NOT a current HWDSB Elementary or Secondary Student" to join Continuing Education HWDSB.  

If you/your child is NOT an active student with HWDSB, you are required to complete the “Student Registration” process before completing your program registration.

If you are an HWDSB Secondary Student progressing to Continuing Education HWDSB Adult Programs, please complete this registration before completing your program registration. 

STEP 1

Complete HWDSB Registration

CHOOSE THE CORRECT YEAR:

• Select the 2025-2026 school year for programs beginning before August 31, 2026.  

CHOOSE THE CORRECT GRADE:

• Select your current grade if you are still in school
• Select "Mature Student" if you are an adult

CHOOSE THE CORRECT SCHOOL:

• "Continuing Education Secondary" for Adults or High School Students
• "Continuing Education Elementary" for Elementary School Students

UPLOAD DOCUMENTS WITH YOUR FORM:

• NOTE: Students registering for Continuing Education do NOT need to show their documents.  Uploading them is sufficient.

• Canadian Citizens - Proof of Age and Legal Name:
  • Birth certificate OR
  • Baptismal certificate OR
  • Passport OR
  • Canadian Permanent Resident Card (PR Card) OR
  • Confirmation of Permanent Residence document
  • NOTE: Driver’s License and/or Ontario Health Card are NOT acceptable
  • If you have changed your legal name, please provide your legal name change document AS WELL.

• Non-Canadian Citizens - Verification of date of arrival into Canada/immigration documents:
  • Permanent Resident Card/document (both sides) OR
  • Citizenship Card (both sides) OR
  • Refugee documents, for example:
    • Notice of Decision
    • Consideration of Eligibility
    • Refugee Protection Claimant Document
    • Acknowledgement of Claim
    • Notice to Return for Interview document OR
  • Work Permit OR
  • Study Permit OR
  • Visitor Record OR
  • Temporary Resident Permit
  • NOTE: Driver’s License and/or Ontario Health Card are NOT acceptable

• Proof of Address:

  • Document must show parent/guardian/student’s current home address
  • Date must be visible
  • If using a parent or guardian’s document as proof of address, please ALSO include a copy of your Driver’s License or Ontario Health Card showing that your address is the same as provided on the document.
  • ONE OF:
    • CURRENT agreement of purchase and/or sale (dated within past 3 months) OR
    • CURRENT utility bill (dated within past 3 months) OR
    • CURRENT property tax bill (dated within past 3 months) OR
    • CURRENT Home phone/cable/internet bill (dated within past 3 months) OR
    • CURRENT Lease agreement (Registration submission date should fall within the lease agreement term) OR
    • CURRENT Government Mail (Revenue Canada, Ontario Works etc.) (dated within past 3 months)

Once your eligibility is confirmed, Continuing Education will provide a link to select your program/course.  In some cases, school approval is required for program registration for Elementary and Secondary School Students.
